In order to standardize the products used throughout the road network and optimize their performance in terms of safety and efficiency, there is a need for a “Smart” tool for monitoring road barriers capable of mainly identifying impacts against the traffic barrier, identifying the direction of impact and signaling the danger to the user by activating the red LEDs on a section of the barrier preceding the point of impact and sending the signal to the territorially competent Operations Room.
In addition to identifying the impact, a system is required that is able to detect and transmit to a remote server some minimum environmental parameters (temperature and humidity of the area) and traffic parameters (direction and intensity).
These functions make it possible to increase user safety and quickly activate procedures from the Operations Room to secure the stretch of road affected by a possible impact against the barrier.
